The Switjas Lake ( Ukrainian Сві́тязь Svitjaz ' ) in the Ukraine is an average of 6.3 m deep lake in Volhynia . With a length of 7.8 km and a width of up to 4.1 km, the area is approx. 27 km². The lake is 58.4 m deep at its deepest point, making it the deepest lake in Ukraine. It is the main lake of the 24 lakes in Shatsk ( Ukrainian Шацькі озера ).
The Svitjaz Lake is located in the Volyn Oblast in northwestern Ukraine in the middle of the Shazk National Park . From an ecological point of view, this area is known as the most beautiful and cleanest area in Ukraine and has been an internationally important and protected wetland area according to the Ramsar Convention for the Protection of Wetlands since November 1995 .
In the middle of the lake there is a wooded island with about 7 hectares.
