Corporate development

At the beginning of 2001, the System Alliance started its business activities in the fields of distribution and procurement logistics in the general cargo area . The origins of the System Alliance lie in the franchise- based company " System-Gut Logistik Service GmbH", which was founded in 1986 by 11 medium-sized freight forwarders as a fast delivery service in the general cargo sector .
In 1998, with partners from 15 European countries, this was developed into the umbrella company " SystemPlus Logistic Service GmbH & Co. KG". The System Alliance is a cooperation between the international SystemPlus and the similarly operating Fortras (research and development company for transport) and is the German partner of SystemPlus .

The company currently has six shareholders and 14 network partners.
A central main transshipment base (HUB) is located in Niederaula . As the first cooperation, System Alliance offered a “Thermo-Service”, temperature-controlled transport in the positive range (at 18 ° C) for heat-sensitive non-food goods, in Germany since November 2005 .

Business activity

Development, establishment and organization of a nationwide network for forwarding services in Germany, as well as the maintenance of the necessary systems and organizations.

Future workshop

The System Alliance has been dealing with future issues in transport and logistics since 2010. As part of a scientifically supported future workshop, 42 studies were evaluated by mid-2012, 45 trends were identified and workshops and interviews were carried out. As a result, the general cargo cooperation publishes a future report that can be viewed free of charge. The idea of dealing with future issues arose from the publication Logistics in the Time Machine . The book was published in 2009 by the System Alliance on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. It illuminates half a century of German logistics history using the example of medium-sized cooperation partners.
