Taita-Taveta County is a county in Kenya . In 2019 Taita-Taveta County lived 340,671 people on 17083.9 km². It is located about 150 km northwest of Mombasa and 300 km southeast of Nairobi . The capital is nominally in the city of Mwatate , but the government offices are in Wundanyi . The largest settlement, however, is Voi . The Tsavo West National Park covers about two-thirds of the land area of Taita Taveta County. The growth of the human population increasingly leads to conflicts with wild animals.

economy

Important economic sectors are agriculture and tourism. In addition to the Tsavo National Park, there are other farms, ranches, country estates and nature reserves on the area of ​​the county.
