Ted Allen

Ted Allen (born May 20, 1965 in Columbus , Ohio ) is an American author and television presenter .

Life

Allen studied at Purdue University and New York University . Allen became known through the American television show Queer Eye , which won an Emmy . In the series he was responsible for food and wine as a connoisseur .

As an author, Allen has written several books on lifestyle topics for men, such as good behavior, conduct in marriage, and good manners in society. After the end of the television series, he hosted a cooking show ( Chopped ), in which four chefs compete with one another, on the US television channel Food Network . He also hosted the Food Detectives cooking show , which uncovered myths about food. Allen can often be seen as a guest in various other cooking programs.

Allen lives in Brooklyn , New York City with his husband, Barry Rice .
