TenDance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TenDance is an advertising-financed, free music magazine that was founded in 1992 by Daniel Stolze (aka DJ Abyss ) in Frankfurt (Oder). In addition to Groove and Raveline , TenDance was the most important German magazine for electronic music . The print edition was published until 2004.

The first issues appear in small editions in black and white copied A4 format as an event guide for techno and house. From March 1993 Ten Dance appears every two months as a b / w printed edition, in July of the same year for the first time in color magazine format. With the February 1994 issue, TenDance appears monthly (double issue July / August and December / January) and is distributed free of charge across Germany through record stores, clubs and trend shops.

In 1995 the editorial team moved to Berlin and fundamentally changed the content concept of TenDance. Under the slogan "The Entertainment Of Electronic Art", the content is expanded to include news, stories, interviews, party dates and tips, DJ and studio equipment tests, and the circulation increases to 80,000 copies. Until now the main focus was on techno and house, from now on all musical directions of electronic music will be considered. The first editorial content will also appear on tendance.de's own homepage from spring 1995, and the entire content of the magazine will appear on the Internet at the same time from the end of the same year. As early as the end of the 1990s, the Internet presence was gaining in importance, as the content of old editions could be used in addition to current content.

In addition to the publisher, TenDance also acts as an organizer, including with X-Mix 1, Atmosphere Rave, Space Admission and Germany-wide tour concepts.

In June 2002 the co-publisher and managing director Christiane Stolze dies. From this point on, Daniel Stolze will take over the publishing business alone.

The last print edition appears in February 2004, in which the TenDance editors officially say goodbye to their readers and announce that in future they will only be available on the Internet.
