Publication and reception

Terra Titanic was released in May 1984 as the pre- single of Schilling's second studio album 120 Grad , in the German single charts the title reached number 26 and was placed for 18 weeks. Schilling appeared with the song twice in the ZDF hit parade ; on June 30, 1984, he was elected to third place by TED vote. On July 21, he was therefore allowed to play the title again. On January 17, 1985, there was also an appearance on the special program Die Superhitparade - Hits des Jahres '84 .

The band Samsas Traum produced a cover version of the song, which is included as a bonus track on the album Utopia .

Trivia

The song begins with the fact that the radar and echo sounder saw the accident coming, but in fact these were only developed later, not least because of the sinking of the Titanic.
