The Terrihütte (Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Sursilvan Camona da Terri ) is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) and property of the Piz Terri section of the SAC. The hut is named after Piz Terri ( 3,149 m above sea level ), the highest peak in the Greina region .
hut
The hut is located at an altitude of 2170 m and has 110 beds in twelve rooms. It is located in the municipality of Sumvitg at the back of the Val Sumvitg in the area of the Greina plateau in the canton of Graubünden and is the starting point for numerous hikes and mountain tours.
It was built in 1925; the location was determined by the well-known alpine researcher Walram Derichsweiler (1872–1936). In 1973 the hut was rebuilt and expanded for the first time, further modifications were made in 1992 and 2007.
Access
In summer the Terrihütte can be reached on hiking trails from the Grisons side from Vrin ( 1448 m ) over the Pass Diesrut ( 2428 m ), from Rabius through the Val Sumvitg over a somewhat steep ascent at the Crest la Greina. The hiking time is around four hours.
From the Ticino side, access is via Olivone or Campo (Blenio) . From there you follow either northwest along the Lago di Luzzone to the Motterasciohütte and further over the Pass Crap, or you walk north through the Val Camadra up to the Scaletta Hut and on over the Pass la Greina. The last section of the route, which begins at the lower end of the Greina plain, is shortened somewhat by the Punt la Greina suspension bridge, built in 2018, with an intermediate ascent that has now been bypassed.
