Terry Rawlings
Terry Rawlings (born November 4, 1933 in London , England - † April 23, 2019 in Hertfordshire ) was a British film editor .
Life
Terry Rawlings studied music editing for four years before he cut the sound for the first time in 1962 for the films Das indiskrete Zimmer , Der große Knüller and Die Küchenbullen . Until 1977 and including Ridley Scott's first feature film, the drama Die Duellisten , Rawlings only cut the sound before he also edited the film for the first time with Watership Down . He also had a successful collaboration with Scott later, as he cut Alien - the uncanny creature from a strange world , Blade Runner and legend for him. However, it was with The Winner's Hour , an athlete biography by Hugh Hudson , that Rawlings received his greatest career success, an Oscar nomination for Best Editing , in 1982 .
Terry Rawlings was a member of the American Cinema Editors and received the 2006 ACE Career Achievement Award from the organization .
