from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teuven ( Limburgish : Teuve ) is a village in the Belgian municipality of Voeren in the province of Limburg .

Teuven was first mentioned in the 9th century as Tofinum . The place belonged to the Beusdael rule until 1645 and then became an independent rule under Baron Gérard de Draeck. The old parish of Teuven once comprised the villages of Hombourg , Remersdaal and Sippenaeken . In the valley of the Gulp, right on the border with the Netherlands, the place is the starting point for a variety of hiking opportunities and offers the numerous tourists the opportunity to stop.

On December 31, 1976, Teuven was incorporated. A blackboard on the old town hall of Teuven reminds of the composition of the last town council before the incorporation.
