The English Historical Review

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The English Historical Review (EHR) is one of the oldest English-language journals on history .

The EHR was first published by Oxford University Press in 1886 and deals not only with British history but with all aspects of the history of Europe and the world since the classical era. The EHR also includes the history of America, albeit with a focus on foreign policy and the role of the USA as a world power.

The EHR is divided into main articles, documentaries and debates on medieval and modern topics in historical studies. The main focus for the reader, however, lies in the extensive assessments of books that are published worldwide and a summary of international literature.

The EHR is published six times a year, usually in February, April, June, October and December. It has 288 pages in each issue.
