The Horror Star is an American horror film from 1983 with German actor Ferdy Mayne in the title role.

action

Aging actor Conrad Razkoff, a former star in horror films, is still revered by art students. But Razkoff is getting stranger. During the filming of a commercial for dentures, the director does not agree with Razkoff's portrayal, which the old actor pushes him from the balcony with his walking stick. At a lecture where Razkoff is supposed to share his experiences as an actor, he is so excited that he faints.

Razkoff talks about death with his wife Etta. He wants his discoverer, director Baumann, to stage his funeral splendidly. Ragzoff collapses after his speech. Baumann indulges in accusations full of envy because the films have made Razkoff a rich star, while Baumann gets stuck. Razkoff has faked his death, attacks Baumann and suffocates him with a pillow.

A short time later, Razkoff actually dies. After the funeral, seven students visit the grave that night. They sneak into the crypt where the coffin is. To her surprise, a film begins on the wall in which Razkoff greets the students even though they have broken into the crypt. The fearful Meg wants to prevent the others from taking the body with them. But they don't listen to them and bring Razkoff in his coffin to an old house and deposit him in an attic. Mrs. Razkoff noticed the theft, and so did the police. The widow wants to use the medium of Mrs. Rohmer to contact her deceased husband, which is also crowned with success.

Through Mrs. Rohmer, he contacts his wife, who calls on him to take revenge for the theft of the corpse. The coffin explodes and Razkoff gets up. The couple Oscar and Donna withdraw, but Donna is scared when she notices a figure. Oscar wants to get to the bottom of this, but he is attacked by Razkoff, who pulls his tongue out. Donna escapes from the house, but meets Razkoff outside, who sets her on fire with black magic. The five remaining miss Oscar and Donna and are looking for them. Bobo is hypnotized by Razkoff and sent to the crypt. There, Bob suffocates from released toxic fumes. Meanwhile, Eve has retired to a room to see a movie. She is lured out by Donna's voice and killed by Razkoff.

The three remaining - Meg, Saint and Stu - panic. Meg wants to go to the police. Since Saint's car won't start, Stu wants to get a flashlight from inside. He runs into Razkoff, who beheads him and throws his head on the lawn in front of the house. Meg and Saint search for Stu and find Donna's cremated body instead. They flee back into the house. Saint tries to fix his car while Meg is lured into a trap by Razkoff in the attic. Meg pushes a crucifix into Razkoff's body and passes out. Stu hides the passed out and carries Razkoff's body to the crypt. At the same time, police officers arrive at the house and find the unconscious Meg and the bodies of her friends.

In the cemetery, Stu is attacked by the reawakened Razkoff and killed in the crematorium. Then he returns to his tomb. A short time later the crypt is visited by Mrs. Razkoff and the medium Mrs. Rohmer, who want to say goodbye to Razkoff one last time. Mrs. Rohmer wants to say goodbye again alone, so Conrad's wife leaves the crypt. The medium now pulls the rings from the corpse's finger and takes everything valuable, including a. Bills from the coat pocket. Razkoff gets up and suffocates Mrs. Rohmer by stuffing the banknotes into her mouth.

A video is shown on television that was recorded in Razkoff's tomb. Razkoff informs the audience that Hell isn't that bad after all. He asks for more respect for the dead.
