The Japanese developer Hironobu Sakaguchi is responsible . The music was composed by Nobuo Uematsu . In North America, Xseed Games took over the publisher instead of Nintendo.

The young Zael is part of a group of mercenaries on the island of Lazulis, which is part of a great empire. Zael struggles as a mercenary, but dreams of becoming a knight. When he saves the escaped niece of the ruler of the island, he comes closer to his goal than ever before.
