content

The airship navigator Jasper Morello doubts himself because he caused a ship accident through his navigation error, which ended fatally for a crew member. On his first trip after the accident, a research trip by the biologist Dr. Belgon, he is subjected to the harassment of his new captain and suffers from concern for his lover Amelie, who as a nurse cares for the victims of an incurable disease that is spreading in Gothia, the hometown of Morello. However, he is recognized by Dr. Belgon, who lets him participate in his experiments, which are carried out with great seriousness.

When the airship gets caught in a heavy thunderstorm, there is another accident with an air fishing boat, whereby not only the captain loses his own ship, but also Morello his compass, which is so important for navigation. With the fishing boat, whose crew has disappeared under mysterious circumstances, the crew continues the expedition on the strange course and finally discovers a hitherto unknown floating island with unexplored flora and fauna. But as the film progresses, not only does Dr. Belgon fundamentally new knowledge. Morello too has to make a monstrous discovery.
