The theater subscription (also: theater entitlement ) is a combination offer for one or more theaters , with which admission for several performances in a block can be purchased at reduced prices. Theater subscriptions are often offered specifically for certain target groups, for example as a youth subscription , premiere subscription or a music theater subscription. Or a program is put together for visitors who want to go to the theater regularly on a certain day of the week.

The theater subscription is very important in theater operations, as it makes it easier to plan the occupancy and income situation of a house. It also serves to increase customer loyalty .

However, this also has a downside: Subscribers are often considered to be conservative and hostile to innovation, as they tend to stay true to the house and its taste for years. With a view to attracting new and younger audiences, there are often conflicts over the programming of the schedule .
