Theodor Arnold (English studies)

Theodor Arnold (* 1683 in Annaberg ; † December 12, 1771 in Leipzig ) was a German translator, lexicographer, grammarian and teacher of the English language at the University of Leipzig .

He published English-German dictionaries and grammars (also in Danish).

Arnold also translated George Sale's English translation of the Koran into German in 1746 .
