Theodor Haller (journalist)

Theodor Haller (born April 2, 1915 , † June 30, 2003 in Javea ) was a Swiss journalist who reported for radio, television and newspapers from Great Britain.

Theodor Haller was a studied historian . In 1947 he was hired as a reporter by the Swiss Radio DRS (DRS). He worked in London and was known as the Voice of England . From 1950 on he also reported from London for Swiss newspapers. Between 1958 and 1983 he commented on the Eurovision Song Contest and royal events such as the coronation of Elizabeth II or the wedding between Prince Charles and Princess Diana ("Lady Di") for the DRS . In his own program Big Ben , Haller reported regularly from Great Britain for Swiss television in the 1960s.

When Haller retired in 1981, he moved to Spain . In 1982 he became Officer of the Order of the British Empire . In 1986 he made a comeback as a television commentator for the royal wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson . In 1988 Theodor Haller published his autobiography Unknown Neighbor England .
