Thomas Aumüller (judge)

Thomas Aumüller (born March 23, 1949 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lawyer . From 2006 to 2012 he was President of the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1967, Aumüller studied music at the Northwest German Music Academy in Detmold until 1968, majoring in clarinet, and won a prize at the national youth music competition . From 1969 to 1972 he studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

After the 1st state examination in 1973 he was a trainee lawyer in the Wiesbaden district court until 1974 and after the 2nd state examination in 1975 he became a probationary judge at the district court and the district court in Frankfurt . In 1978 he was appointed judge for life at the Frankfurt Regional Court.

From 1987 to 2001, Aumüller was seconded to the Hessian Ministry of Justice in Wiesbaden , and in 1988 he was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main, while his secondment was in effect. From 1995 to 1998 he was Head of the Ministry of Justice with the budget, organization and IT department in the Hessian Ministry of Justice and from 1999 to November 2001 he was Head of Department IV Prison in the Hessian Ministry of Justice.

In 2001 Aumüller returned to the judge's service. From December 2001 to June 30, 2006, he was President of the Darmstadt Regional Court , and from May 2002 he was deputy judge at the Hessian State Court . On July 1, 2006, he became Brigitte Tilmann's successor , President of the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main. In April 2012, Aumüller retired, followed by Roman Poseck as President .

Aumüller lives in Kelkheim . He is a member of the CDU .
