Thomas Kronthaler

Thomas Kronthaler (born February 14, 1967 in Erding ) is a German director and screenwriter .

After training as a toolmaker , he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich in the department of directing and dramaturgy for film and television plays. Short films such as "Der Broz" (1992) and "Montagmorgen" (1993) as well as some commercials were made. As a cameraman and co-director, he was involved in a 1997 documentary about the classic car rally from Paris to Beijing.

The controversial construction of a McDonald's restaurant at the Irschenberg motorway exit inspired the director in 2000 to make his movie " The Hypocrites ", which was a cinematic success, especially in southern Germany, with 180,000 visitors. After this success, Kronthaler worked in particular for television (" The Rosenheim Cops ", 2002-2005; " Suddenly Grandpa ").

For cheerful to deadly: Monaco 110 , Thomas Kronthaler wrote the scripts for the first 8 episodes.
