Thomas Prantner

Thomas Prantner (born September 9, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and manager . Since January 1st 2007 he has been director for online and new media at ORF .

life and career

He graduated from the Humanist Gymnasium in the Kollegium Kalksburg Vienna. In 1984 Prantner was a trainee for the ORF in the foreign TV department of the current service and in 1985 was an editorial assistant for the program "Auslandsreport". Prantner worked for the magazines WIENER and Basta , among others , before joining ORF public relations in 1988 and in 1994 as the personal advisor and office manager of General Director Gerhard Zeiler .

From June 1995 to April 2002 Thomas Prantner was press spokesman for the ORF and head of the public relations and communication department. In 1999 he was granted power of attorney . On May 1, 2002, he was appointed head of marketing at ORF and head of the central marketing department.

Prantner has been Head of the Main Online and New Media Department and Deputy Director for Technology, Online and New Media since April 2012. As such he is responsible for the "ORF TVThek".

Prantner is co-founder of the Independent Citizens' List Hinterbrühl, which has existed since 1989.
