Thomas Vogel (writer)

Thomas Vogel (born August 11, 1947 in Sindelfingen ; † October 20, 2017 in Tübingen ) was a German writer and journalist .

Life

Vogel studied Romance studies , art history and theology . During his studies he worked as a songwriter , musician and actor . In Heidelberg he did his doctorate with a thesis on contemporary French chanson . He has been a journalist and editor since 1980, most recently as deputy studio manager and head of the culture department at Südwestrundfunk -Studio in Tübingen. He was honorary professor for general rhetoric at the University of Tübingen .

In 1983 he "invented" the best song list , to which Vogel was a member of the jury until the end of 2003.

Vogel has written and published several books, essays, radio plays and short stories. Since 2001 he has also gained fame as a novelist . Not only did his own books appear at the Tübingen Klöpfer & Meyer Verlag , but Vogel was also an editor there ( Die Lust am Scheitern , Neckar stories ).
