Tibet discussion group

The Tibet discussion group was a non-factional discussion group of members of the German Bundestag who dealt with the subject of Tibet .

The discussion group was founded in May 1995 on the occasion of a hearing on the situation in Tibet in the Foreign Affairs Committee and has met at irregular intervals since then, most recently about every three months. The discussion group is an intergroup with the task of creating awareness in parliament for the Tibet problem and, together with civil society actors, to find ways and means by which German politics can contribute to improving the situation in Tibet and the Tibetans.

The discussion group consisted of 53 members from four different parliamentary groups as well as members of the parliamentary groups and members of parliament; the chair was jointly chaired by members of the Bundestag, Holger Haibach (CDU), Peter Hettlich (Bündnis90 / Die Grünen), Harald Leibrecht (FDP) and Johannes Pflug (SPD). exercised.
