Tibor Maracskó (born September 8, 1948 in Székesfehérvár ) is a former Hungarian pentathlete .

Career

Maracskó took part in two Olympic Games . In 1976 in Montreal , he won the bronze medal in the team competition with Tamás Kancsal and Szvetiszláv Sasics . In the individual he reached the 13th place. At the 1980 Games in Moscow , he improved to fifth place in the individual. With the team he stood on the podium again, he László Horváth and Tamás Szombathelyi were behind the Soviet team to the second place .

At world championships in 1973 Maracskó won his first medal with bronze in the team competition. In 1974 he won the silver medal in the same discipline, before finally winning the title in 1975 . With bronze in 1977 and silver in 1979 in the team competition, he secured a total of five World Championship medals in his career.
