The table puppet or table figure is played from behind on a stage about the height of the table. It can be moved by rods from the outside or by internal guides. Complicated techniques such as strings for legs, movable hands, mouth and eyes are represented in this type of doll , as are simply built figures. The table figure is also extremely variable in size, it can measure a few centimeters or take up the entire table stage.

The puppet like this kind of figure allows the whole body representation and therefore allows great creative freedom that can go up into sculpture. In addition, it has advantages of the stick figure and, like this, is suitable for spontaneous play because it is guided directly. It is used for black theater as well as for open play and is at home in all subject areas.
