Tlatilco is an archaeological site in the Valley of Mexico , dating from around 1500 BC. Was settled.

The place became famous and named for its typical clay statuettes ( pretty ladies ), which mainly depict women with different costumes and hairstyles. These were likely used in fertility cults . Figures of this kind were also found in many other places in the Mexican highlands. In the roughly 500 researched graves, objects were found that testify to the cultural influence of the Olmecs . Around 300 BC Tlatilco was given up.
