To Aru Kagaku no Railgun ( Japanese と あ る 科学 の
action
The plot of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun represents an excerpt from the world of To Aru Majutsu no Index , which particularly focuses on the four female characters Mikoto Misaka, Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu and Ruiko Saten. Of these, Mikoto is the focus of events. Their special ability to strongly accelerate metallic objects with electromagnetic force ( railgun ) gave the series its name. She is almost always accompanied by her roommate Kuroko, who is in love with her and calls her "big sister".
Together with their two school friends, they investigate a mysterious drug in the first section of the plot, which increases the psychological abilities enormously for a short time after ingestion. This is also a reference to events in the first light novel by To Aru Majutsu no Index , in which this incident is briefly mentioned as Level Upper . They try to stop the drug dealer after their cause became personal through a coma friend.
