Tobias Dohrn

Tobias Dohrn (born December 23, 1910 in Berlin ; † March 29, 1990 in Cologne ) was a German classical archaeologist . His main research focus was Etruscology .

Tobias Dohrn in 1937 when Andreas Rumpf at the University of Cologne with a dissertation The black-Etruscan vases from the second half of the sixth century doctorate . Dohrn was drafted into military service in World War II in 1939 ; the assistant position at the University of Cologne, which he was offered in 1940, he could only take up after the war. He held the position of assistant until 1953. He received his habilitation in March 1944 . After the war, Dohrn was appointed adjunct professor in 1951 and was given a diet lecturer's position in 1953 and a permanent professorship in 1960. In 1976 he retired.
