Toguchin ( Russian Тогучин ) is a city in the western Siberian Oblast Novosibirsk ( Russia ) with 21,900 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located in the southeastern part of the West Siberian lowlands , about 125 km east of the Oblast capital Novosibirsk , on the Inja River , a right tributary of the Ob . The climate is continental.
The city of Toguchin is the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name .
history
Toguchin, in the place of which a village has existed since the 17th century, was established in 1929 as a settlement as part of the construction of the Novosibirsk - Novokuznetsk railway line and received city rights in 1945.
