Tomáš Rolinek (born February 17, 1980 in Žďár nad Sázavou , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been playing for HC Dynamo Pardubice in the Czech extra league since 2015 .
Career
Tomáš Rolinek began his career in the offspring of HC Žďas Žďár nad Sázavou before he moved to the ice hockey boarding school of HC Slavia Prague . But since his development there stagnated, he returned to his homeland. Zbynek Kusý brought the junior player into the junior teams of HC Pardubice , with whom he twice became Czech champion in the youth field. In the 1998/99 season he made his debut in the Czech extra league for Pardubice. In the following season he was sent to HC Vajgar Jindřichův Hradec in the first division , mainly to improve his body game.
A year later Rolinek returned to HC Pardubice and was used in 30 Extraliga games, otherwise he played for the U20 juniors. In the 2001/02 season he scored twelve goals and seven assists in 50 games . In the following season he improved his points yield with the HC Pardubice runner-up behind Slavia Prague. After this positive experience, he first moved to HC Litvínov . There he was not very successful, so he returned to Pardubice via the Bílí Tygři Liberec . This return gave him the opportunity to become champions of the 2004/05 season alongside NHL stars such as Milan Hejduk and Aleš Hemský .
In the following three years he established himself as a leading player within the team, so that he was also used at several world championships. Since he played very conspicuously at the 2008 World Cup, the management of HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk signed him for the 2008/09 season . Ultimately, Rolinek stayed with Metallurg until 2012 and completed over 260 KHL games for this club, in which he scored 85 goals and 80 assists. After the end of the 2011/12 season, he left Metallurg and was committed to Salawat Yulayev Ufa for two years . After 21 games for the club, this contract was terminated early in late December 2012 and Rolinek returned to HC Pardubice in early January 2013.
In the 2013/14 season and in the 2014/15 season Rolinek was the captain of HC Sparta Prague and scored 18 goals in the 2014/15 season. He has been part of the HC Dynamo Pardubice squad again since the 2015/2016 season and is also the team's captain.
International
Tomáš Rolinek has taken part in three international championships in his career to date: he took part in the 2006 World Cup for the Czech national ice hockey team and won the silver medal. A year later he was a member of the team that finished seventh at the 2007 Men's Ice Hockey World Championship . At the 2008 World Cup, he was one of the top performers in the Czech team and scored two goals and an assist in seven World Cup games. At the 2010 World Cup , he was one of the key players on his team and scored many important goals, so that the national team won the gold medal at the end of the tournament.
In addition to these appearances at world championships, he was often a member of the national team at preparatory games and tournaments on the Euro Hockey Tour .
