Toni Ucci

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Antonio "Toni" Ucci (born January 13, 1922 in Rome ; † February 19, 2014 there ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Ucci began on revue and cabaret stages in the Italian capital, where he made a name for himself as a comedian (including in the cabaret "Puff"); he was quickly in demand in all media and played in over 100 films and television productions between 1948 and 2000. In numerous genre films you saw the lanky, tall actor in supporting roles as a comic sidekick, but also as positive, mostly Roman characters, which he embodied with a sonorous voice and sympathetic features. He was also often seen on stage. Ucci also played in musical comedies and - often underestimated - in dramatic roles such as his portrayal as Herodes Antipas in Roberto Rossellini's The Messiah .
