Tony Palmer
Tony Palmer (born August 29, 1941 in London ) is a British film director and writer. He worked in more than 60 films and worked early in the 1960s with artists such as the Beatles , Cream , Jimi Hendrix , and Frank Zappa . He later directed films and biographies about artists, composers and musicians such as B. Benjamin Britten , Maria Callas , Plácido Domingo , Violeta Urmana , Margot Fonteyn , Yehudi Menuhin , John Osborne , Sergei Rachmaninow , Dmitri Shostakovich , Igor Stravinsky , Richard Wagner and Ralph Vaughan Williams . He also directed the theater and opera. He has published several books.
The couple Tony and Michela Palmer have three children. Tony Palmer is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and an honorary citizen of New Orleans and Athens .
