description

The steep slopes Golden car is part of the historic preservation material entity ( Ensemble Protection ) of Hoflößnitz as well as the surrounding listed vineyard landscape of Hoflößnitz as a work of landscape and garden design and is equipped with this part of the conservation area Historic vineyard landscape Radebeul . For this he is also in the conservation area Lößnitz . The vineyard gives its name to the Radebeuler Goldener Wagen , which is the easternmost of the three Radebeuler individual layers within the Radebeuler Lößnitz area. The state vineyard itself is partly owned by the Sächsisches Staatsweingut Schloss Wackerbarth in Niederlößnitz in Radebeuler Johannisberg , another part in the west is managed by other winegrowers, e.g. B. by Enrico Friedland from Kastler Friedland Winzer .

In the Goldener Wagen vineyard, right next to the Spitzhaus staircase , relatively high up, is the mouth of a historic watercourse that comes out of the mountain and was used for irrigation. There is water in it, but it is held back by the entrance threshold.

The distinctive gate system and the shed of the State vineyard stand today as a single monument under monument protection .

Gate system

The round arch of the striking door system consists of natural stone blocks by a sandstone - keystone be maintained. In this there is the partially gilded relief of a horse-drawn cart, on it the allegory of autumn (based on the motif in Retzsch's vintner's procession of 1840), underneath the date 1710.1925 . The inscription STAATLICHER WEINBERG / GOLDNER WAGEN , which is also gilded, was placed under the keystone . In the portal there is a two-winged green wooden gate.

The design for the gate system built in 1925 comes from the local architect Alfred Tischer .

In 2012 the gate system was renovated by the operator, the Saxon State Winery Schloss Wackerbarth , in particular the efflorescence was removed. At the instigation of the local association for the preservation of monuments and new buildings, the golden carriage was given a new gilding.

Tool shed

The timber-framed tool shed on the southern edge of the vineyard has a tiled hipped roof . The building, erected like the gate in 1925, sits on a vineyard terrace wall.

Early Leipzig

The fourth oldest vine in the world and the second oldest house vine in Germany, with an estimated age of 250 to 350 years, stands on a dry stone wall. The or the Early Leipzig is the Prié Blanc grape variety .
