Toyonaka ( Japanese 豊 中 市 , -shi ) is a city in the north of Osaka Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan .
Toyonaka is a residential suburb of neighboring Osaka . Kyoto is about 30 km to the northeast .
history
The city received the city charter on 15. October 1936 .
economy
In the surrounding area is mainly rice and wheat grown. Petroleum products , textiles and mechanical engineering are economically important .

Toyonaka is home to the Toyonaka campus of the former imperial and now Osaka State University . The Osaka Music Academy is located between the Shōnai and Hotarugaike Hankyū train stations.
