Tremosine sul Garda (until 2014 only Tremosine ) is an Italian municipality with 2077 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is located on the western side of Lake Garda in the province of Brescia in the Lombardy region . The place is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).

The districts of Priezzo and Vesio

Almost the entire municipality extends over the plateau that gave Tremosine its name and which drops steeply to Lake Garda, as well as the mountainous landscape to the north, part of the Lake Garda mountains . Only the district of Campione is located directly on the lake.

The lowest point Tremosines is on the lake shore at about 65 meters above sea level , the highest point is Monte Caplone (1976 m slm). Pieve , the district with the administrative center, lies at a good 400 m slm. While the lake has a Mediterranean climate and corresponding vegetation, the summit areas with their species-rich, sometimes endemic flora are (sub) alpine . The entire municipality is part of the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano Natural Park .

The valleys Valle San Michele and Valle di Bondo (called Valle Brasa in the lower reaches ) divide the place roughly in a north-south direction. The lower reaches of both rivers, the water of which is also used to generate energy, have dug deep ravines into the rocks on the lake shore.

Tremosine borders the following municipalities: Brenzone ( VR , border in Lake Garda), Limone sul Garda , Magasa , Malcesine (VR, border in Lake Garda), Ledro ( TN ) and Tignale . Tremosine's twin town is North Adams (USA).
