Trinity House

The Corporation of Trinity House of Deptford Strond , usually nicknamed Trinity House , is the beacon administration for England , Wales and the rest of British territorial waters. The authority is responsible for the construction and operation of lighthouses , lightships and other navigation aids, such as buoys and radio or satellite navigation systems. Old brothers and young brothers

Trinity House is run by 31 old brothers ( Elder Brethren ), headed by the Master (currently the Princess Royal ). The old brothers are elected from 300 young brothers ( Younger Brethren ). The young brothers also act as advisors and sometimes have other tasks. They are chosen by lay people with a nautical background.
