The Tsing Ma Bridge ( Chinese  青馬大橋  /  青马大桥 , Pinyin Qīngmǎ Dàqiáo , Jyutping Cing 1 maa 5 Daai 6 kiu 4 ) in Hong Kong was the bridge with the second longest span in the world for a year after its completion in 1997 . It connects the islands of Ma Wan and Tsing Yi , which are separated by the Ma Wan Canal, and serves the highway 8 as well as the rapid transit lines Tung Chung Line and Airport Express , which connects Hong Kong with Lantauand further connect to Chek Lap Kok, where Hong Kong International Airport is located.

The 41 meter wide bridge has two decks, a road and a railway deck. There are six lanes for cars on the upper deck, two tracks for trains and two lanes for cars that are used in strong winds on the lower deck . The main span is 1377 meters, the pylons are 206 meters high. Until the opening of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over the Bosporus in August 2016, it had the largest span of all bridges with railroad tracks in the world.
