tv.rostock is a private television station for the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the Rostock region and the largest regional television station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The station informs about current events from society, politics, economy, culture and sport in the Rostock area. tv.rostock reaches 131,026 households with around 225,000 people via the cable TV networks of the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the surrounding area as well as the nearby cities of Bad Doberan, Kühlungsborn and Ribnitz-Damgarten. Furthermore, tv.rostock is broadcast on the internet as web TV at tvrostock.de and as App TV via fire tv and Apple TV as well as Google Play Store and Apple Store.
tv.rostock is the winner of the -Regiostar- television prize for the best news journal in private regional television in Germany.
history
The broadcasting started in 2001 only in the TV cable network of the city of Rostock. At the beginning only one program was broadcast per week, the number of programs has increased continuously over the years. Since October 2006, tv.rostock has offered viewers six programs a week (Mon – Fri, Sat / Sun). The broadcasting area was expanded in 2006 to include the Bad Doberan TV cable network and in 2011 to include the Kühlungsborn and Ribnitz-Damgarten TV cable networks. From 2012, the associated Internet television was put online for the first time and then gradually expanded.
The transmitter
tv.rostock is located in the "Kosmos" in the Südstädter Nobelstrasse. A 140 square meter studio as well as editing and editing areas are available here. The station regularly employs around 15 people.

After a major program reform on January 1, 2013, a news magazine of approx. 20 minutes for the region is produced and broadcast on every broadcast day ( news - news from the Hanseatic city , sport on tv.rostock , weather on tv.rostock , event tips on tv.rostock , Asked - The Interview / The Survey for the Day ). At 6 p.m. the program of the broadcast day is first broadcast on the cable network and on Internet television, with repetitions on the cable network every full hour. The program is financed exclusively through advertising and sponsorship income.
tv.rostock is the winner of the -Regiostar- television award for the best news journal in private regional television in Germany (award ceremony 2016).
