Typically Greek is the rapper Greckoe's debut album . It was released on October 17, 2008 via the music label Sektenmuzik .

Concept and production

Grecko's textual focus is mainly on topics such as leisure , pleasure and the life-style lifestyle . The album title Typisch Greek as well as the content orientation of many pieces are to be understood as coquetry of stereotypical thinking towards everyday Greek life . Greckoe, himself the son of Greek immigrants , stylized himself over the entire duration of the record as a personification of the prejudices against Greek and southern migrants in Germany, some of which stem from the time of the economic miracle. He glorifies excessive frappé , alcohol or wine consumption , emphasizes his preference for Greek cuisine and deals with problems from society and the world of work or promiscuity . References and quotes from German pop and hit music as well as Greek folklore can be found on the album.

The musical design mainly uses the hip-hop production style of the 2000s . The album consists largely of synthesizer-based beats that are heavily permeated with elements of classic southern hiphops and French rap music . In addition to the producers Beatzarre , DJ Katch, Diego Tunes, Djorkaeff , Don Tone, Efe, there are also guest contributions by Sido , Alpa Gun , B-Tight , Butch, Doreen , Freddy Cool and Fuhrman on the record.

At first, dried grass can be seen on the cover . Trees and many sheep can be seen on the grass. The foremost sheep wears a blue cap with a white G on it. Greckoe sits on a hill and stirs a typical Greek frappé . The words “Greckoe” and “Typically Greek” can be read in blue letters on the top of the cover.

The album could not enter the charts, but the video Typisch Greek des Rappers was broadcast on September 16, 2008 on the music channel MTV. The clip reached number 2 in the show's charts.
