The Metro Station Arsenalna ( Ukrainian Арсенальна (станція метро) / Arsenalna (stanzija metro) ) is situated in 105.5 m below ground Underground Station, the Metro Kiev in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and therefore the lowest lying well underground station in the world .

The station, which opened on November 6, 1960, with a daily traffic of 26,100 passengers, has been an architectural monument of local importance since 1986.

location

The station on metro line 1 (Svyatoschynsko-Brovarska) between the Khreshchatyk and Dnipro metro stations is in the Pechersk town of Pechersk on Arsenal Square, near the Arsenal Factory , the Salyut Hotel and the Church of St. Nicholas on Askold's grave as well as the Kiev Pechersk Lavra . The great depth was necessary because of the location of the city center and the difference in altitude with the Dnieper. Because of this low position, the access escalators are divided, the upper and lower sections are at an angle of approximately 90 degrees.
