The subway station Messe-Süd is a planned station of the Düsseldorf light rail . It lies in the course of the first trunk line , in the Stockum district of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf . The date for the construction of the station has not yet been set.
location
The underground station is to be built below the Düsseldorf Congress Center, parallel to the Rhine and Rotterdamer Strasse. It should provide a connection to the southern part of the fair . This part is currently public transport -technical only bus routes Rheinbahn developed.
Station complex
The current plans provide for three stair entrances and two lift systems below a covered area on the forecourt of the congress center. The staircases lead directly to the tracks on the 11 meter wide and 90 meter long central platform . At peak times, for example at trade fairs, the station could accommodate trains from 3 B80 cars.
Line U80
The subway station Messe-Süd is located on the planned U80 of the Düsseldorf light rail network. According to current plans, the line should branch off after the Reeser Platz station in the direction of the Nordpark . In the Nordpark, a ramp is to be built on the Engländerwiese, via which the trains will be led into an approximately 1.3 kilometer long tunnel below the Nordpark, to the Messe-Süd station. The tunnel is to continue under the exhibition grounds, to end shortly before the Merkur Spiel-Arena / Messe Nord underground station and to lead the trains into the station via a ramp.
