As early as 1975, there was a street hockey group in Sulz-Rickenbach. From 1980 to 1983 a total of nine friendlies from this time against HC Rychenberg Winterthur are documented.

During the 1983/84 season, the Winterthur club Rychenberg finally took part in the first floorball trial championships of the Swiss Landhockey Association. At the end of this season, when the HCR had qualified for the first regular NLA season, part of the players separated from the HCR to found the UHC Sulz-Rickenbach on April 26, 1984.

The UHC Sulz-Rickenbach rose at the end of the 1993/94 season for the first time since relegation in 1986 back to the National League A in. On February 1, 1996, the association merged with the UHC Virtus Winterthur to form UHC Winterthur United .
