Ulrich Eisenhardt

Ulrich Eisenhardt (born June 5, 1937 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German lawyer and professor emeritus at the Fernuniversität Hagen .

Career

Eisenhardt studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and Bonn . After the second state examination in law, he worked at the Institute for German and Rhenish Legal History at the University of Bonn. Here Eisenhardt was in 1964 with one of Hermann Conrad supervised study on "scope and meaning of the Electoral Cologne privy councilor in the last years of the 18th century," Dr. iur. PhD. Eisenhardt then worked with Hermann Conrad on his habilitation thesis on "The imperial supervision of book printing, book trade and the press in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation 1496-1806" , with which he habilitated in 1970.

After substituting professorships at Saarbrücken University and Munich University , Eisenhardt became scientific advisor and professor at Bonn University in 1972. On April 1, 1975, he was offered a position at the newly founded University of Hagen, where he was appointed first professor. He took over the department of civil law and corporate law, which he headed until his retirement in July 2002.

Honors

In 2006 Eisenhardt was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Panteion University of Athens .
