Ulrich Surau (born August 19, 1952 in Emmerich ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Ulrich Surau moved from the juniors of the then regional league team Alemannia Aachen to the German champions at Borussia Mönchengladbach for the 1971/72 season . In his first season he made 14 appearances as a defender. In the following year, meanwhile as a regular player, even on 26. An Achilles tendon tear on the 32nd matchday of this season threw him back, so that he did not play a single Bundesliga game for Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1973/74 . During his six years at Borussia, he had two German championship titles (1975 and 1976), a DFB Cup victory (1973) and a UEFA Cup victory (1975). In the 1976/77 season he played for Rot-Weiss Essen in the Bundesliga and for Bonner SC in the second Bundesliga North. In total, he came to 69 Bundesliga games, in which he scored six goals.
