Ulrike Diebold

Ulrike Diebold (born December 12, 1961 in Kapfenberg ) is an Austrian physicist and university lecturer .

Life

Ulrike Diebold studied technical physics at the Technical University of Vienna , graduating with a diploma in 1986. In 1990 she was awarded a Dr. techn. PhD . After that she was a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University in New Jersey until 1993 . From 1993 she taught and researched at Tulane University in New Orleans, initially as Assistant Professor, from 1999 as Associate Professor and from 2001 to 2011 as Full Professor. She has been working there as a research professor since 2011.

In 2010 she was appointed professor for surface physics at the Institute for Applied Physics at the Vienna University of Technology . In her scientific work, she deals with the research of surface structures and molecular processes of metal oxides with the help of surface spectroscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy techniques .
