Unigenitus Dei filius (Latin "the only begotten Son of God") is a bull from Pope Clement VI. which was published January 27, 1343.

With it, the return of a holy year was shortened from 100 to 50 years with the acquisition of a perfect indulgence . Pope Boniface VIII had proclaimed such a holy year for the whole Church for the first time in 1300.

The bull also stated that the merits of Jesus Christ in pouring his blood on the cross were abundant. Together with those of the saints , these merits constitute the Church's treasure trove of grace , which benefits those who are in need of such graces.
