Uwe Bloch (born September 2, 1956 in Rostock ) was a football player in the GDR upper league . He played there for FC Hansa Rostock .

Bloch started as a nine-year-old in the Rostock club's children's team. As a junior player, he played 15 international matches with the GDR junior national team between 1974 and 1975. As a schoolboy, at the age of 17, he played his first two men's games in April 1974 with the second team of FC Hansa playing in the second-rate GDR league . In the 1975/76 season he moved up to the 1st team, with whom he also played in the GDR league due to relegation in the summer of 1975. The 1.81 m tall Bloch was involved in the immediate resurgence as a left full-back with 23 missions and four goals. Although most of the time only a second division player, he played seven junior international matches between September 1975 and November 1976.

After the resurgence of the Hanseatic League, Bloch played his first league season in 1976/77. After three appearances in the junior league team, he was called up on October 23, 1976 in the encounter of the 8th game day Dynamo Dresden - Hansa Rostock (6: 2) as a left-back for the first time in a league game. A total of 13 times he came this season in the league to train. At the same time he had completed his training as a docker and started studying sports. Bloch's first league season ended with another relegation of FC Hansa. So he played in 1977/78 in the second division and was also not part of the player base with only ten point games. Rostock managed to return to the league again within a year, but Bloch only played a substitute player in the new league year, he was only used in ten league games in 1978/79. Hansa had meanwhile developed into an elevator team, because the ascent was immediately followed by the descent. The league season 1979/80 was more successful for Bloch with 14 point games, and at the end of the season he was able to celebrate promotion with his team again. The return to the league was depressing for Bloch, only twice in 1980/81 he was used in point games.

In 1981/82 he was nominated again for the league team, but did not complete a single first division game and, at the age of 25, switched to the GDR league team BSG Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock during the season . After Bloch had played there regularly as a left defender until October 1982, he had to start his military service in November, which he completed with the GDR league teams of the army sports communities Vorwärts Neubrandenburg and Vorwärts Stralsund . While in Neubrandenburg until December 1983 he played almost all point games, mainly as a pre-stopper , he was only used in five out of nine point games in Stralsund until April 1984. After his discharge from the army, Bloch joined TSG Bau Rostock, which also played in the GDR league, in May 1984 . In the two seasons between 1984 and 1986 Bloch completed 54 of the 68 league games as a defender. After the 1985/86 season Bloch rose with TSG in the third-class Rostock district league and then did not return to higher-class football.
