Välisluureamet
The Välisluureamet is the foreign intelligence service of the Republic of Estonia .
History and structure
The authority was established after Estonian independence was regained in 1992. Until March 2001 it was called Eesti Vabariigi Teabeteenistus ("Intelligence Service of the Republic of Estonia"). Until July 2017 it was called Teabeamet ("Information Authority ")
The Välisluureamet is subordinate to the Estonian Ministry of Defense. It is based in the Estonian capital Tallinn .
The intelligence service works closely with the Estonian Office for the Protection of the Constitution ( Kaitsepolitsei ) .
