Vítor Manuel de Oliveira Lopes Pereira (born July 26, 1968 in Espinho , Portugal ) is a former Portuguese football player and today's football coach .
Coaching career
Pereira was a coach at CD Santa Clara from June 2008 to June 2010 and then assistant coach at FC Porto under André Villas-Boas . Following the resignation of Villas-Boas, Vítor Pereira was introduced as Porto's new coach on the same day.
Between 2013 and 2014 he coached the Saudi club Al Ahli.
In January 2015 he took over the coaching position of the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus.
On June 11, 2015, Fenerbahçe Istanbul confirmed the commitment of Vitor Pereira for two seasons, starting with the 2015/2016 season. A second place in the championship, the end in the cup competition, the elimination in the second round of the Europa League against Sporting Braga and the missed qualification for the UEFA Champions League led to the premature separation. On August 15, 2016, Fenerbahçe Istanbul announced the termination of the contract.
On January 1, 2017, Pereira took over the German second division TSV 1860 Munich, which was in 14th place in the table after the first half of the season . He received a contract until June 30, 2018. After he finished 16th with his club at the end of the season, Pereira had to play relegation games against SSV Jahn Regensburg . A 1-1 in the first leg and a 2-0 defeat in the second leg meant relegation to the 3rd division , whereupon Pereira left the club.
On December 12, 2017, Pereira succeeded the resigned André Villas-Boas as head coach at the Chinese first division club Shanghai SIPG .
