Valentine Rothe

Valentine Rothe (* 1934 in Kassel ) is a German history teacher and painter .

Rothe studied history, philosophy and German in Frankfurt , Munich and Münster . She did her doctorate at the University of Education in Rhineland , Bonn department. Rothe was a permanent employee of the journal Geschichtsdidaktik and research assistant at the University of Duisburg . After a study of the Russian Revolution in 1905 , she worked closely with Annette Kuhn in history didactics and in women's history work. She completed her habilitation in 1985 at the University of Duisburg . As a private lecturer, she taught at the University of Bonn .

Rothe is on the board of the Women's Museum in Bonn . She is an honorary member of the board of the European Academy for Women in Politics and Business in Berlin . She donated the Valentine Rothe Prize for young women artists.
