The Cabane de Valsorey is an alpine refuge in the Valais Alps . It is located southwest of the Grand Combin at an altitude of 3030  m above sea level. M. The hut is owned by the La Chaux-de-Fonds section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC).

history

The hut was first built in 1901 and burned down in 1924. The stone hut was rebuilt in 1926, with 30 places at the time. Later it was extended on the mountain side in a mixed construction and with an enlarged width, the old hut and its original entrance are still visible. In addition to the main house, the hut also has a wooden structure.

Ascent

The valley location is Bourg-Saint-Pierre . The ascent to the hut takes around 5 hours to climb 1,400 meters (T3).

Mountaineering

The hut is the starting point for the peaks around the Grand Combin de Valsorey ( 4184  m ) and the Combin du Meitin ( 3622  m ).
