Vanishing Kings - Lions of the Namib , German Desert Kings - The Lions of the Namib , is a Namibian - French - Austrian documentary about the desert lions in the Namib . It wasfilmed and producedby Will and Lianne Steenkamp , with support from ORF , Arte , Into Nature Productions and the Smithsonian Channel. It wasbroadcastby NatGeo Wild and ARD , among others.
The film tells the story of the so-called five Musketeers ( english Five Musketeers ), a group of five young male called desert lions in the Kaokoveld in Namibia. These were all killed after the film was shot and released by May 2017.
Vanishing Kings - Lions of the Namib II premiered in Namibia in April 2018. It deals with the time around the death of the five lions.
